KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 12.59 g, 12 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Lampsakos, uncertain mint, after 282. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - [Λ]ΥΣΙΜΑΧΟY Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in her right hand and leaning with her left arm on shield decorated with lion's head; behind, transverse spear; in inner left field, monogram; in exergue, crescent left. Cf. Müller 399 and Thompson 49 (for prototype). Minor marks and light scratches, otherwise, very fine.
